Sincere Thanks - Batik inspired background

My card that I created was inspired by batik fabric. It is used a lot in quilting and has gorgeous water color like look to it. Just go on Pintrest and type in batik to find all kinds of lovely fabrics and designs. I love the look so I wanted to try and create something like it with a card back ground. First I cut a piece of water color paper and blended distress inks in three colors. I used tattered rose, spiced marmalade, and fired brick. After that I embossed the flowers with Hero Arts ultra fine clear embossing powder.

After that I took a paint brush and dipped it into some water and applied the water to the petals of the flowers. I let the water set for a few minutes and then blotted it away with a clean paper towel. When that was complete I took two different size dots and embossed them with silver Hero Arts embossing powder. I also embossed my sentiment on to a strip of vellum and wrapped it around the front of the card and fastened the ends of the vellum on the inside of the card. I will be entering this card in the Word Art Wednesday blog challenge. For their anything goes challenge #152. I hope you enjoyed my card and would be so kind as to leave me some feedback please.

  1. The colors just melt into one another and the embossed flowers are quite beautiful. Thank you for posting your art with us this week during our 152nd challenge at Word Art Wednesday. Hoping you have a fine, fun day, full of glorious giggles, with buckets of blessings from Heaven as you work, and play.
